Ask me the full title of this post, and I'll answer you with... I never thought I could like Jakarta!
Errr... why would one not like it though? Jakarta is a place full of opportunity, the capital and is the biggest city in Indonesia. You pretty much find whatever you can think of in the city. Oh well.. I never happened to like it, nonetheless.. of so many visits in the past. The never-ending traffic bugs me. I feel like getting around takes too much time, and as a result you don't get a lot done in a day. I also do hate the polluted air there.

Ate this fried rice the night I caught the train to J-town. Yum! |
It's not like I gave the city a second chance to win my heart; it was a little bit miraculous how I ended up deciding on spending my last two nights, instead of one, in Jakarta. I was headed by train from Purwokerto, waved my parents a good bye at the train station. It was a sad night.

Where I stayed in Jakarta |
The first Jakarta night was to be spent in Thamrin area, where you find giant malls, office buildings, convenient stores, restaurants, apartment complex, and what not in the area. I chose to stay in a hotel that's somehow connected to one of the malls near by. Funny thing was.. I didn't know that until I arrived there in the morning. I do love the area because everything is within a walking distance there. Upon arriving at 8 am, I checked in right away -very cool that they let me check-in that early, wasn't it? Thought I could fall asleep that morning, to make up the sleep I missed the previous night on the train. Nevertheless, the urge to get out and explore the area prevailed. It was 10:30 in the morning, I stepped out and set my foot at a mall called Thamrin City. Found batik, clothes, footwear, cell phone, and computer stores out there. Wound up getting a couple of things for my parents, which I then mailed in the afternoon.

Fantastic view I took from the garden of Thamrin Residences |
All in all, I enjoyed taking a walk out to malls during the day. Speaking of my hotel, I was impressed by the swimming pool. It was water galore indeed. LOL. From Thamrin City I explored Grand Indonesia Shopping Town and Plaza Indonesia, respectively. My first night was mega, cuz two of my friends came by the hotel, and out we went. We had dinner at Plaza Indonesia then went to see the premier of The Raid: Redemption. Ended up with a sleep-over. Not sure of what to feel at first about The Raid, which is an action movie. But since lots of people talked about it I wanted to give the movie a try. To be honest with you, I am not a fan at all of action movies; hate bloody scenes! But knowing that The Raid being aired in cinemas across US, Canada, and Japan made me want to see it for myself. It's gotta be something. Surprisingly, I ended up liking it, esp, after watching it for the second time in Seattle this weekend! Iko Uwais's look reminds me of my favorite teacher in middle school, boy do they ever look alike!

Dinner before The Raid at Plaza Indo |
Tons of tasks are awaiting to get done, now that I am home. I have four major things to do.. homework of nursing school that hasn't even started (it will though, in a week), finishing the entries about my Indonesia trip (am doing it now), my piano practice (I have a class tomorrow), and lastly..I want to read the book I just received: Oasis The Truth. First Oasis book ever written by the band member; it's Tony McCarroll the ex drummer. Gonna be a good read.
Gotta say bye for now! Not gonna sure when I am gonna write again. It's going to be hella busy week. Nursing school is coming up in a week. That said, blog writing thing will come to the so-called 'arrested development'. Honeymoon is over! >.<
